"It shouldn’t have to be this hard!"

‘It shouldn’t have to be this hard.’ Me, 2 years ago.

Groundhog Day. Every day another version of the same. The mental load, the tantrums, the amount of time spent preparing and cleaning up meals that were mostly left uneaten, the sick kids, the lack of sleep, no family around to support, and not saying yes to help - because ‘everyone else can do it all, I should too.’

It felt like I was drowning in the never-ending to-do lists, just wishing the hours away until bedtime - which made me feel like the worst mum ever so for good measure, on most days, I added a big dollop of guilt to top it all off.

A deep desire to see a change in my parenting and in our family life led me to immerse myself in everything parenting: books, podcasts, programs, yearly subscriptions, and finally coaching.

All of these were impactful and healing in their own way, but for me, coaching was the game-changer. I moved from 'knowing' all things respectful parenting, yet not integrating these into my day-to-day, to understanding the root cause of my apparent inability to make the changes I knew were needed: the limiting beliefs and fears I held about myself and parenting. Within the safety and accountability of my coaching sessions I was able to start making the mindset changes needed to finally take back control of my parenting choices - and start to parent from a place of intentionality.

So no, it doesn't actually need to be this hard.

But it starts with YOU. Before the scripts, the strategies, and the Pinterest boards, your parenting will only begin to feel good when you feel good. You are a whole person, and to live a full life you need a holistic approach. I know that it's possible to go from feeling frazzled to finding meaning in everyday parenting moments because I've been there.

"from feeling frazzled to finding meaning"

"I  can do this!"

Imagine waking up in the morning feeling confident that you have the tools to handle whatever your children get up to. How would your life be different if you didn't allow yourself to get stuck in the daily power struggles with your child, but you were finally able to let go of the rope? How much more enjoyable would parenting be if you allowed yourself to relax on a play date, not worried about what your child might do or say, but grounded in the truth that you've got this? What if you were able to discipline (a word which by the way is derived from the Greek word, disciple, and means 'to teach') from a place of understanding, trust, and flexibility? Imagine being able to get curious around your child's behaviour, and able to understand where they’re coming from, knowing what is appropriate to expect for a child their age. What if you didn't feel the need to compare your parenting journey with the people around you, but have done the work to figure out what things are actually important for your family, what your unique goals and family values are - and were then able to reflect these in your daily, weekly, and yearly rhythms? Imagine not feeling like your head was about to explode when your child had big feelings, but rather, able to calmly hold your boundaries - being a calm, safe presence in your children's inevitable storms.

Imagine the main story you tell yourself to be true about parenting to be this: I'm good enough. This is meaningful and so worth it. I have what it takes. I can do this.

I know this is possible for you. Because I’ve been there, and I’ve also helped many other parents in the same boat get to the other side: empowered and confident, not perfect, but rather working towards something worthwhile – gaining the skills and tools for our most important roles on earth: raising the next generation.

Introducing

THE PRESENT PARENT SOCIETY

An 8-week journey taking you from feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, and confused - to feeling confident, connected with your children, and able to find true meaning and joy in the everyday parenting moments.

You’ll learn:

  • How to determine what your unique family values are, and set goals for your relationship with yourself, your family, and your children

  • How your own childhood might be showing up in your parenting today, and get to decide if this is still what you want for your family going forwards, effectively breaking generational cycles

  • How to make sense of nervous system science, finally understanding why your child’s behaviour makes you want to either explode or run away

  • All about brain science; giving you the information you need to have age-appropriate expectations of your child, not allowing behaviour that is developmentally ‘normal’ to rattle you

  • How to make sense of Emotional Intelligence, recognising that for us to live a full life, we need to feel and work through all of our emotions, and not just the ones that feel good

  • How to support your children when they're having big feelings, and how to remain calm yourself

  • When and how to effectively teach and guide your children – moving away from threats, punishments, bribes, shame, and other control-based discipline tools - and finding new strategies of discipline that come from a place of being rooted in your role as their kind, confident leader

  • How to have difficult conversations with your children or your partner to resolve conflict, repair disconnection, and solve problems creatively

  • How to foster playful parenting as a tool to encourage teamwork and get things done around the house

  • …and so much more!

You’ll get:

  • 8 weekly group coaching sessions (75 min)

  • Downloadable parenting workbooks to support the weekly topics

  • 24/7 access to The Present Parent Society Facebook group, an exclusive online community where you can ask questions, share your experiences, and join in for weekly challenges

  • For in-person courses: A free coffee with every session

  • For online courses: One free 60-minute 1-2-1 coaching session with me to avail at any time during the 8-week program

"My family experienced some major changes over the last three years that caused stress and uncertainty. During this time, I felt lost as a mother and in the way I was parenting. There was no parenting book out there that could assist me with our unique situation, family dynamic, and the things that kept me up at night. I’ve heard of life and parenting coaches before, but never thought it was something that I needed or could benefit from until I found Nadia.

From my first session with her, I knew that our time together would be life-changing. Her empathy, care, and ability to explore a situation through powerful questions helped me overcome so many of my fears, struggles, and insecurities as a parent. I now feel calm, and confident and I walk with purpose. I look at situations differently and understand my child so much better, all thanks to Nadia. She has given me amazing tools and strategies to overcome any situation. I can highly recommend Nadia. Her knowledge, passion, and commitment are second to none."

"Before the Present Parent Society parenting felt unmanageable, explosive, and lacking joy. I dealt with stressful situations by yelling, giving timeouts, and bribing my son as these were the only tools I had. This program opened my eyes to realise that I’ve been parenting from a conditioned set of beliefs that were not helping me to get to my biggest parenting goal: creating a relationship with my children where they felt safe to come to me about anything.

Nadia created a safe space for me to share my honest parenting experiences, and helped me see that firstly, I am not broken, and secondly, I can make a difference in my children’s lives. Another key shift for me was in the way that I look at my son’s behaviour. Where before I was only able to see the behaviour, I am now able to get curious and get to the real reasons why he’s behaving the way he is. I feel like I finally understand my son. Such a game-changer!

This is just the tip of the iceberg. I learnt a whole lot more, and am planning on going back into it with my husband to align our approach. If you’re thinking of getting this, I can highly recommend it. Your children will thank you for it one day."

"I follow all those parenting pages on social media that give you great advice for how to do this parenting thing. Oftentimes when the challenges came, I would forget that awesome post I rushed through a week ago. It would go right through me. Working with Nadia for has been like finding a missing piece. There is so much info out there but having a real coach, in a safe place, to talk over actual challenges has transformed my parenting.

The material is fantastic and something I will definitely go back to as I move through the different ages. Having other moms, real-time to talk, and real examples has just been life-changing, and I know this will impact my children’s lives forever.

Not only that, Nadia as a coach, is incredible. There’s so much love and patience and empathy coming from her. I just think this course and you, Nadia, are amazing. Truly transformational."

Will you keep winging this parenting gig, or are you going to join me as I help you intentionally craft your future?

  • When does the next group start?
Dates for the next group of 2024 are currently being confirmed. If you are keen to get started right away then you might want to consider the one-on-one coaching packages.
  • Is this only for parents with young children?
This program is for any parent, as the main focus of the program is on YOU, the parent, and how you see your role. What you believe about parenting, your role as a parent and your children determine how you respond to them. If you believe your child is being ‘manipulative’, ‘naughty’ or ‘attention seeking’ you will respond one way. In this program, I will help you change your lens – and when you are able to truly see your child and get to the real reason for their behaviour, you might start seeing those same behaviours for what they really are: ‘overtired’, ‘overstimulated’, or ‘connection seeking’, which gives you the best chance of responding and disciplining from a place of genuine understanding. This is true for all ages. Depending on the rest of the parents in your group, some examples might be of children that are not the same age as yours, however, the key needs and responses of these children and their parents are very similar.
  • Is this only for mums?
This is for all parents, grandparents, or caretakers. It’s perfect for anyone that would like to understand a child in their care better and would like to learn how to respond to this child in a way that would encourage connection, teamwork, and emotional intelligence.
  • What about parents with neuro-diverse children?
This is true for all children, whether or not they are neuro-diverse. All children deserve to be understood, respected, and embraced – and this can only happen when you start with yourself, when you are able to get curious about your automatic thoughts and responses, and you intentionally decide to do things differently in the future.
  • What if I can’t make all of the sessions?
I understand that life with kids is unpredictable! I would ask that you don’t purchase this program if you can’t commit to at least 5 of the 8 sessions. Online sessions are recorded, so if you’re part of the online cohort, I can simply forward you the session you missed. In-person sessions are not currently being recorded.
  • Why is the program so long? Do you have another offer that won’t take as long?
This program is 11 weeks long as it covers all of the most important things you need to be aware of, think about, or decide for you to design a parenting life that you find meaningful. I’ve also found this to be a perfect amount of time to build real friendships and to genuinely connect with others in a way that you would never be able to in any other setting. I do have a 4-week one-to-one coaching package available, so please reach out if you find this to be more suitable for your specific needs.
  • What if I don’t like the program? Do you offer a money-back guarantee?
Because I am so confident in this program’s ability to make a positive change in the way you see and do parenting, I offer a money-back guarantee. You have nothing to lose, and everything to gain. This is your chance to invest in yourself, your family, and your future. *Money-back guarantee only offered until the end of week 4. All workbooks must be fully completed (up to the week of refund request) and returned to qualify for the refund. Please note that a 50-dollar admin fee is non-refundable.
  • I don’t like a group setting. Do you offer one-to-one coaching?
Yes, I do! I have a 4-week one-to-one coaching package, as well as a 12-week Transformational Parenting Program. Reach out, and let’s see which one of these will suit your family’s needs.
  • Can I bring my husband/ partner with me?
Absolutely. It’s a great idea, where possible, to do this program together as it saves a lot of time and frustration when you are both on the same page. You will both need to pay the individual fee.

Yes! This is exactly what I need right now.
